NFL Week 13 odds: 5 best bets on favorites

NFL Week 13 begins with a Thursday Night Football double header. Below we look at the five best favorites bets for NFL Week 13.

5. Kansas City Chiefs (-10) vs. Oakland Raiders

Big number, but this is the right spot to swallow the points. The Raiders are coming off a hideous performance in which they lost 34-3 to the New York Jets. Now they have the pleasure of coming to Kansas City for a date with the Chiefs, who are off their bye week. Kansas City won the first matchup between these two, 28-10, at the Oakland Coliseum in Week 2 despite being without left tackle Eric Fisher and receiver Tyreek Hill. Both are expected to be playing this time around.

4. Green Bay Packers (-6.5) at New York Giants

The Packers are trying to erase the memory of a dreadful contest against the San Francisco 49ers, and they get the 2-9 Giants to do so. New York has lost seven straight and hasn’t been very competitive against good teams this season. There’s little reason to believe Green Bay struggles here, especially after being so bad on Sunday night. Daniel Jones is no match for Green Bay’s pass rush of Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith.

3. New York Jets (-3.5) at Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati is doing the right thing by starting veteran quarterback Andy Dalton over Ryan Finley, but it won’t matter much. The Jets are actually starting to play some really good football, winning 34-3 over the Raiders for their third consecutive win last Sunday. At 4-7, New York is attempting to keep any faint hope of making the playoffs alive, and it won’t fall victim to the winless Bengals, even on the road.

2. New Orleans Saints (-7) at Atlanta Falcons

The Saints were beaten earlier this month by the Falcons, when they came off the bye week and lost 26-9 at the Superdome. To say Drew Brees and Co. are out for revenge would be an understatement, especially considering the rivalry between these two teams. Atlanta is woefully out of playoff contention at 3-8, while the Saints are trying to finish off the NFC South before attempting to wrap up a first-round bye in the NFC postseason.

1. New England Patriots (-3) at Houston Texans

Bill Belichick is perhaps the greatest coach of all time. Bill O’Brien is not. The difference between the two coaches is huge, while the gap between the Patriots and Texans isn’t far behind. Deshaun Watson might struggle to make plays, with DeAndre Hopkins being blanketed by Stephon Gilmore throughout the evening. New England isn’t going to score a ton of points, but the offense should do enough to win and cover on the road in primetime.
