NFL Week 17 schedule: 5 QBs primed for huge games

We look at the NFL Week 17 schedule to figure out which quarterbacks are going to have huge days this weekend.

5. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Rodgers went off the first time the Packers faced the Minnesota Vikings, only to have it come in one of Green Bay’s two losing efforts with him at the helm this year. With a big game looming against their rivals on Sunday night, look for Rodgers and the Packers to play well, while the Vikings try to stop receiver Davante Adams, running back Aaron Jones and more. Rodgers could be in store for a huge night.

4. Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers draw the beautiful assignment of facing the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium this weekend. Few teams have a worse defense than the Jets, ho routinely get torched by average quarterbacks. While Brady might be without a hoard of his weapons this Sunday, it shouldn’t matter against Robert Saleh’s charges. Tampa Bay is trying to find its way to the NFC’s top seed, and Brady going nuts against the Jets ought to help that goal.

3. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Stafford has been a rollercoaster over the past few months, and despite beating the Vikings last week, it was a downturn for him with three interceptions. This Sunday, the Rams go across the country to face the Baltimore Ravens, who just allowed 525 yards to Joe Burrow through the air in Week 16. While Stafford isn’t likely to match the fellow No. 1 overall pick’s production, it’s not outrageous to see 350 yards and three touchdowns in his near future.

2. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Allen is getting the Atlanta Falcons this week, with Buffalo needing to win to stay ahead in the tight AFC East race. It’s hard to see the Bills getting beaten by the Falcons, who although they’re 7-8, there isn’t much to worry about for Buffalo on either side of the ball. For Allen, there should be ample time to throw and plenty of space for his weapons in receivers Emmanuel Sanders, Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley.

1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

The Cincinnati Bengals are a legitimate foe, but they have struggled all year to deal with opponents throwing against them. With the Chiefs coming to the Queen City, that’s horrid news for them. Mahomes should be able to carve up the corners with receivers Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman and Byron Pringle, while taking advantage of the linebackers when throwing to tight end Travis Kelce and running back Darrel Williams.
