NFL Week 8 odds: Making a case for the favorites
NFL Week 8 began with a Patriots win over the Jets. We take a look at some favorites bets for the rest of the NFL Week 8 slate.
Washington Redskins at Minnesota Vikings (-15.5)
The Vikings are at home on a short week against a complete tire fire. Why wouldn’t they roll the Redskins? This should be an easy cover even without Adam Thielen.
Arizona Cardinals at New Orleans Saints (-9.5)
New Orleans is trying to cover a sizable spread at home against the suddenly-hot Cardinals, winners of three straight. This comes down to the defense remaining stout.
Cincinnati Bengals at Los Angeles Rams (-13)
The Rams need to cover this by halftime and not look back. The Bengals are hideous.
Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts (-6)
Indianapolis is at home and while the Broncos are coming off the mini-bye, they still have a putrid offense. The Colts simply need to protect the ball and play smart. Should cover.

Los Angeles Chargers at Chicago Bears (-4.5)
This is a tough task. Mitch Trubisky has been downright rancid this season, the Bears are mired in a slump and the Chargers are better than their record indicates. Case for Chicago? This is the Chargers, after all.
New York Giants at Detroit Lions (-7)
Detroit absolutely has to have this game, is at home and is the better team.
New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars (-4.5)
Jacksonville is trying to even its record at 4-4. Also, the Jets look like a team ticketed for a top-five pick in next year’s draft and is playing on a short week.
Philadelphia Eagles at Buffalo Bills (-1.5)
Buffalo has an awesome defense and is at home. The Eagles are more talented, but they’re also in a nasty funk.
Seattle Seahawks (-3.5) at Atlanta Falcons
The Seahawks are good, and the Falcons are playing like they’re trying to get their coach fired.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Tennessee Titans (-2.5)
Tennessee finally has a decent quarterback, and Jameis Winston is always good for a few horrific turnovers.
Carolina Panthers at San Francisco 49ers (-5.5)
Until the 49ers lose, how could you go against them, especially at home? San Francisco’s defense should prove a problem for Kyle Allen.

Cleveland Browns at New England Patriots (-10.5)
The Patriots are giving up a touchdown per game. Think they score 20 in this game? Yeah, me too.
Oakland Raiders at Houston Texans (-6.5)
The Texans are at home and in need of a win after losing to Indianapolis. Deshaun Watson should have no problem lighting up Oakland’s secondary.
Green Bay Packers (-4.5) at Kansas City Chiefs
Matt Moore isn’t Patrick Mahomes, and Aaron Rodgers looks like an MVP candidate. This won’t be easy even so, but the Packers cover if they play their best.
Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers (-14.5)
The Steelers play even reasonable well, they cover.
