Packers’ Jordan Love reveals status of surgically repaired thumb
The Green Bay Packers are shaping up to be a legitimate Super Bowl title contender heading into the 2025 NFL season.
Along with the team pulling off a blockbuster trade out of nowhere to acquire superstar linebacker Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys, the Packers look like they have a healthy starting quarterback, Jordan Love, ready for Week 1.

The rising star let it be known that he has “no concerns” about his surgically repaired thumb heading toward the season opener on Sept. 7 against the division rival Detroit Lions, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.
Love said that he has “no concerns” ahead of the Sept. 7 opener against the Detroit Lions but that the thumb will have to be protected using a brace similar to what he has worn in practice.
Obviously, this is great news for the Packers, even though the thumb will be monitored and protected from here on out.
“It’ll be some weeks having to brace it up and just keep it protected,” Love said Thursday. “It’s one of those things, we’ll play it by ear, as I start getting into games and seeing how it feels, as you get back to live contact. But there’ll be some time having that brace still.”
In 15 games he played during the 2024 campaign, Love threw for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, which are numbers that are down from his first season as a starter for Green Bay.
Love will be looking for a bounce-back year while leading the way for a team that could be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC.
