Packers’ Tucker Kraft out for season with torn ACL
The Green Bay Packers’ crushing last-second loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 9 appears headed toward another disappointing fate, with tight end Tucker Kraft likely out for the rest of the season with an apparent torn right ACL.
The injury occurred in the third quarter and was ruled out for the rest of Sunday’s game. Kraft will be undergoing additional tests on Monday, but the expectation is that his 2025 season has been cut short.
“It doesn’t look good,” Head coach Matt LaFleur said via ESPN. “It’s going to be tough. But it’s football. The other guys are going to have to step up.”
Losing Kraft is a significant blow for the Packers’ offense as he’s been one of their primary passing game weapons. He has emerged as a highly dependable target for Jordan Love, thanks to his big-play ability.

Heading into Sunday’s game, he had 30 catches for 469 receiving yards and six touchdowns. His absence leaves a huge void that Love and the Packers will have to look elsewhere to fill.
“Tuck means a lot,” Love said. “I think his leadership role and then obviously his play on the field. He’s been playing at a high level. We’ll see what the injury is, but not having him out there for the rest of the game was huge.
“So, yeah, it’s one of those situations, though. It’s the next man up. We’ve got to find ways to keep playing at a high level without him out there.”
Throughout this season, Love has spread the ball around in the passing game. However, it will likely see Green Bay lean more heavily on Romeo Doubs to lead the charge in the passing game in that primary spot.
The Packers could also be without rookie wideout Matthew Golden, who exited in the third quarter of Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury.
Green Bay will look to get back on track in Week 10 on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.
