Panthers rookie QB Bryce Young expresses frustration during training camp
The Carolina Panthers made the bold of trading for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft because the team felt it was finally time to right the ship and potentially land a franchise quarterback they can build around.
With plenty of viable options in the draft to bring in a potential franchise quarterback, like C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, Will Levis and Bryce Young, Carolina couldn’t resist the urge to make the trade with the Chicago Bears.

Ultimately, the Panthers decided that Young was their guy because seemed to be the most NFL-ready and the most talented of the players available.
Despite his clear talent, Young has had moments of frustration trying to get up to speed during training camp, which head coach Frank Reich recently addressed via ESPN.
“He’s really harder on himself more than anybody,” Reich said after one of the longest and hottest practices of camp. “A quarterback, you’ve just got to be unflappable. And I think we all know Bryce has that gene. Nothing really changes his pulse.
“But yet, he’s the ultimate competitor, he’s got that drive to be great. So that’s what you want.”
This is a common occurrence for a young quarterback that has a lot of pressure to be ready right out of the gate to start his rookie season in the NFL.

Young already has the starting job in Carolina, which obviously adds a lot of pressure, as the team will look for him to produce right away, especially considering the moves the team made to be relevant in 2023.
