LeSean McCoy has been a Pro Bowler six times and an All-Pro twice. It appeared he would sign with a team in the AFC. One source said the Los Angeles Chargers pursued the running back as soon as he was released by Buffalo.
Earlier on Saturday, the Chiefs and the Houston Texans made a deal that sent running back Carlos Hyde to Houston. That left starter Damien Williams, Darrel Williams, Tremon Smith and Darwin Thompson as the Chiefs’ only running back on the 53-man roster as a result.

McCoy, who is 31, rushed for the lowest number of yards of his NFL career in 2018 with 514 in his final season with the Bills. McCoy has played 10 seasons in the NFL and has 10,606 yards rushing which ranks No.25 overall on the career list and is fourth amongst active rushers.
McCoy’s four seasons in Buffalo can only be described as inconsistent. The first season was a struggle and he finished with 895 yards on the ground. McCoy said that was attributed to the trade from Philly to Buffalo. In season’s two and three with the Bills, McCoy rushed for over 1,100 yards each season, but struggled again during 2018 with just 514 yards on the ground.
