Super Bowl 56 odds: 5 value bets from NFC

With the NFL regular season less than two weeks away, let’s look at five NFC teams who are sleepers to win Super Bowl 56.

5. Minnesota Vikings (40/1)

Few teams have more talent than the Vikings. Minnesota has running back Dalvin Cook, and receivers Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson on offense. Meanwhile, the defense boasts linemen Dalvin Tomlinson, Michael Pierce, Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter, linebacker Eric Kendricks, safety Harrison Smith and corners Bashaud Breeland and Patrick Peterson. Of course, how much do you believe in quarterback Kirk Cousins? Intriguing team.

4. New Orleans Saints (30/1)

Another intriguing bet. The Saints have long been a staple in the contender column, but are now without future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees after his retirement. New Orleans replaced him with. last year’s backups and former 5,000-yard man Jameis Winston. While the downgrade is real and the receiving corps is limited while Michael Thomas recovers from surgery, this is a very well-coached team with a terrific defense.

3. Arizona Cardinals (40/1)

Can the Cardinals take the next step? Arizona has clear holes in the roster, specifically on the offensive line and secondary, but the strengths are also quite real with third-year quarterback Kyler Murray, perennial All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and edge rushers J.J. Watt and Chandler Jones. This is a long shot bet, for sure, but Arizona has the potential to make noise.

2. Green Bay Packers (12/1)

The Packers need to be on the list, even though they have the second-best odds of any NFC team, only behind the defending-champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Green Bay is returning almost all of a team that has gone 13-3 and reached the NFC Championship Game each of the past two seasons. Getting $12 for every 100 cents spent seems like a nice value bet, even with the drama caused by Aaron Rodgers and the front office throughout the summer.

1. Seattle Seahawks (22/1)

The Seahawks are easily. the best value bet out of the NFC. Seattle routinely goes to the playoffs with double-digit wins and a home game or two ahead of it. Last year, the Seahawks were 12-4 with one of the league’s most dynamic offenses before being upset by the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round. While the secondary is a serious concern, the offense is loaded with quarterback Russell Wilson, receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, and running back Chris Carson. Seattle knows how to win and has a roster capable of a Super Bowl run.
