Super Bowl 57 odds: 5 best value bets in AFC
Looking at the Super Bowl 57 odds, here are five teams in the AFC worth considering as a great value to win it all come next February.Â
5. Kansas City Chiefs (+750)
The Chiefs are tied with the Buffalo Bills to win the Super Bowl, so why are they on the value list? Because with Patrick Mahomes as its starter, Kansas City has reached the AFC Championship Game every season and twice gotten to the Super Bowl in four years. If the Chiefs remain relatively healthy, they’re a phenomenal bet to get deep into the playoffs and perhaps win it all.
4. Los Angeles Chargers (+2200)
Los Angeles is a fascinating team. The Chargers have one fo the best cap situations in the league and a top0five quarterback in Justin Herbert. This is a great combination for improving this offseason and then seeing a huge jump come September. Last year, Los Angeles went 9-8 and failed to make the playoffs after a late-season collapse. The Chargers have ample talent offensively in receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, so with a better defense, they can compete in the loaded AFC.
3. Cleveland Browns (+3000)
Why are the Browns on this list? Last year, everything went wrong, beginning with quarterback Baker Mayfield being hurt throughout most of the season. If Mayfield is healthy in 2022, Cleveland will immediately be better. Additionally, the AFC North is fairly open, even with the Cincinnati Bengals coming off their Super Bowl appearance a few weeks ago.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (+5000)
Pittsburgh is 50/1 because its current starting quarterback is Mason Rudolph. If that holds come September, forget this article ever existed. However, there’s a good chance the Steelers either nab a new starter in the draft, or even trade for a veteran such as Jimmy Garoppolo or Russell Wilson. If the latter happens, Pittsburgh would be a viable division winner and suddenly have at least one home playoff game. It’s a nice value.
1. Baltimore Ravens (+2000)
The Ravens were the AFC’s top seed at one point in November at 7-2. Then the proverbial wheels came off, and Baltimore failed to make the playoffs. Much of the problem revolved around the injures which kept coming all year long, wiping out left tackle Ronnie Stanley, quarterback Lamar Jackson, running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, corners Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey and receiver Sammy Watkins for some or all of the 2021 season. If Baltimore has good health, it could make a championship run this time around.
