Veteran QB Russell Wilson opens up about signing with Steelers
Russell Wilson is set to begin the next chapter of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wilson steps into a situation where the expectations are high for him to guide the franchise toward sustained success. The former Pro Bowl acknowledged that notion by stating that he wanted to compete for a Super Bowl.

“I wanted to be able to win championships with Coach Tomlin and these guys in the locker room,” Wilson said Friday via ESPN. “… It’s a great place to be grateful for the opportunity to be able to get after it and do what we came here to do. And that’s to win football games.”
The Steelers pounced on landing Wilson after his failed two-year stint with the Denver Broncos, where he struggled to guide the team toward the playoffs.
He played better this past season, but he was benched for the final two regular-season games. The Steelers are all-in on Wilson after trading their 2022 first-round pick, Kenny Pickett, to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday.

Wilson is the only quarterback under contract for Pittsburgh, further underlining that the team is behind him to lead the charge in 2024.
The Steelers present the 35-year-old with a fresh start to get his career back on track. His reputation has taken a significant hit over the last two seasons with the Broncos.
His NFL future in his hands to prove that he will return to being a game-changing factor under center that can lead the Steelers to much more than a playoff berth.
