Rockets with Harden, Defense and Depth May Be NBA’s Best
The Houston Rockets believe they were the best team in the NBA last season. They also believe they were robbed of a title when guard Chris Paul suffered a strained hamstring. That incident occured when the team was one win from dethroning Golden State.
However, everyone inside the Rockets locker room today is not concerned with the past; they are too busy working on a new chapter in franchise history.
Although highly confident last season, the Rockets believe they are a substantially better squad in 2019. The end of the regular season may not show that as far as wins and losses. Although the Utah Jazz will not argue about that after two losses to begin their first round Western Conference best of seven series.

Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni said the Rockets are as good as any team and could be better than all of them following the Rockets 118-98 rout of the Jazz in Game 2 on Wednesday.
The Rockets season started slow at 11-14, but after dealing with new players acquired over the summer than did not work out, they had to deal with injuries to Paul and leading rebounder Clint Capela.
Nevertheless, since a makeover of the bench during midseason by general manager Daryl Morey and Paul and Capela becoming healthy again the Rockets have become one of the best if not the best team in the NBA.

Following the break for the All-Star Game, the Rockets had the best record in the NBA at 20-5.
D’Antoni said Harden had an even better season this season than last even though he was the league MVP last season. The league’s high scorer also played the best defense of his career this season.
Harden’s offensive season is conceivably the best in the history of the NBA as he averaged the most assists per game at 7.4 of any player that has averaged over 35 points scoring per game.
The Rockets are on a roll and just at the right time as the NBA’s second season has just begun. Each team in the playoffs knows the road to the NBA Title this season could very easily go through Houston.
