Russell Wilson: What I Really Care About Is The Super Bowl

Seattle Seahawks signal caller Russell Wilson is in the midst of his best season so far, statistics wise.

Russell Wilson has a 26:4 touchdown-to-interception ratio so far this season. He has helped Seattle to the top spot in the NFC West and a 10 – 2 record for the season. At this stage they are a cert for the playoffs, and perhaps a dark horse for the Super Bowl.

Despite winning one Super Bowl and appearing in another, Russell Wilson has never been named MVP. It’s unfortunate for him this season that his good play is being eclipsed by the Ravens’ bombastic running QB Lamar Jackson.

However, Wilson says that winning a title for his team is more important than individual accolades.

“I think ultimately the reality is what I really care about is winning the Super Bowl, you know? That’s what we really want to do,” Wilson said.

“To be in the conversation, to have a chance to potentially put that accomplishment of MVP on the shelf, it would be a blessing for sure. …

“Those accolades, those things matter, those things are real, those things are great, but the thing that matters the most is trying to take your team all the way to the finish line and trying to win. I’ve been fortunate to win one Super Bowl, been to two. That’s what I really care about is getting another ring hopefully.”

His Seattle Seahawks team play against the Los Angeles Rams in their next game on Sunday.

The Rams (7 – 5), will provide a stern test, as they are fighting for their postseason lives in every game. Despite his talk of Super Bowls, Wilson would obviously love to be named MVP. A strong finish to the regular season and showing up in the postseason would be a good start.
