Durant’s decision on where he will play beginning next season could take well over a week.

Kevin Durant opted to decline his player option of $31.5 million. As a result, he is an unrestricted free agent as of June 30. Golden State is planning to offer the All-Star a max contract of five years and $221 million. The Nets, Knicks and Clippers are able to offer Durant up to a four-year deal worth $164 million.
Kevin Durant, who has been named NBA Finals MVP twice while playing with Golden State, torn his right Achilles during Game 5 of the recently completed NBA Finals and in all likelihood will sit out the entire 2019-20 NBA season to rehabilitate.
