Seahawks’ Mike Macdonald Explains Terrion Arnold Signing Amid Felony Case
The Seattle Seahawks recently decided to bring cornerback Terrion Arnold aboard despite the felony charges that he’s facing.
Head coach Mike Macdonald said there were “overwhelmingly positive” reviews of Arnold, making it too much to pass on adding him to the mix on a one-year minimum-salary deal.
“We feel really strongly about our locker room and our team, and we had a great visit with Terrion,” Macdonald said via ESPN. “Obviously we knew him throughout the [predraft process in 2024]. I referenced the folks that have been in his corner throughout the whole process as well, and we respect those people. We’re not going to ignore those folks that we really respect and have a strong opinion about it as well.
“When you put all those things together, it felt like it was a good opportunity for the team.”
At the same time, Macdonald voiced uncertainty about whether Arnold will be able to play, as he could be placed on the commissioner’s list while his legal issues get sorted through. The Seahawks vented his situation and found it reasonable enough to sign him.

Arnold is facing eight felony charges stemming from a kidnapping and robbery that occurred in Tampa, Florida, back in February. He turned himself in June, and the Detroit Lions released him the following week.
The 23-year-old is accused of orchestrating the kidnapping and beating of three men whom prosecutors believe he wrongly believed had stolen $100,000 in cash from him, along with other luxury items.
Ultimately, time will tell whether Arnold will make it to the field with the Seahawks while his legal issues play out.
