The Chicago Blackhawks, Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins sit in the top three spots.
The Pens are sitting near the top of the East and continuing their trend of being in the cream of the crop. The Penguins know they will rack up enough wins for a playoff run and are simply biding their time.
The Ducks went 2-1 last week and of won 12 of their last 16 games. They have a commanding 11-point lead in the Pacific division and are hanging with the best of them in their conference.
The Blackhawks sit atop the odds. They won three of four games last week, dropping one to the Washington Capitals. They are 6-3-1 in their last ten games, but this explosive team can go on a big run at any time.
Like the Pens and Ducks, the Blackhawks have a firm spot atop the NHL.
A dark horse team that could end up contending and upsetting a lot of teams is the Nashville Predators.
They may be only 20/1 to win the Stanley Cup, but last week they showed they can hang with the best teams in the NHL.
The Predators had an impressive week. They went 2-0-2 last week and are 8-2-2 in their last 12 games. They took on Chicago and Aneheim recently and in both games they showed they could hang with the big boys.
Nashville are second in the West division, but will likely be climbing up the rankings if they keep up their current state of play.
