NFL Week 2: Early lines
Let’s go over each of the Week 2 lines and see which way you should be leaning early in the week…
Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-3)
Cincinnati is favored by more points than it scored last week (zero), and yet I still think the Bengals are going to cover. Who is the quarterback for Houston?
Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers (-7)
Good game right here, and the line is too big. Minnesota has some offensive talent and Sam Bradford will find open men. The Vikings aren’t a bad team.
Arizona Cardinals (-7.5) at Indianapolis Colts
The line could be 20, and I would still take the Cardinals to roll the Colts. Indianapolis is the worst team in football without Andrew Luck.
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-7.5)
This is a good line. The Browns aren’t good, the Ravens are decent, and Baltimore is at home. This is a stairway, although if pressed, take Cleveland to cover.
Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5)
The Chiefs were the most impressive team in Week 1, trouncing the Patriots. Kansas City is at home against a good, not great, Eagles team. Swallow the points.
Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5)
Tampa Bay finally opens its season against a Bears team that might be starting you at wide receiver. Take the Buccaneers to cover in a big way.
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars (PICK)
Basically, who wins? Tennessee is the much better team, and its a desperate one. Take the Titans to get off the ropes.
Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers (-7)
The Panthers are still dealing with a subpar Cam Newton, but the Bills are bad. Carolina should be able to cover at home against a team with no offensive talent sans LeSean McCoy.
New England Patriots (-4.5) at New Orleans Saints
The Saints aren’t good. The Patriots are very good, and they’re furious. This is going to be a massacre.
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)
The Chargers looked awful in Denver, and the Dolphins have had two weeks to get ready for this game while practicing in California. Take the points.
New York Jets at Oakland Raiders (-13.5)
Have you seen the Jets. Swallow 30 points if need be.
Dallas Cowboys (-1.5) at Denver Broncos
This feels like a good line as well. The Broncos were impressive in their first game, but this is a step up in class. Dallas covers.
Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Rams (-2.5)
Sean McVay’s old team meets his new team. Believe in the new team more.
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-12.5)
Seattle is going to come out angry, aggressive and ready to win. The 49ers won’t. Swallow the points.
Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons (-2.5)
Great game. The Packers and Falcons are both going to light up the scoreboard, and I like the Packers to cover if not win outright.
Detroit Lions at New York Giants (-5)
The Giants have to get Odell Beckham Jr. back, and maybe block someone. I love Detroit to cover here, but think New York wins a close one.
