Saints’ Alvin Kamara aims to return to being a ‘highlight-making running back’
The New Orleans Saints have high hopes heading into the 2020 NFL season after falling short in the playoffs once again last year. They were a dominant force in the NFC last season. Although, star running back Alvin Kamara struggled to return to form as one of the best players in the league at his position.
In 2020, Kamara is hoping to get back to his old ways. At his best, he is capable of dominating the competition with his unique skill set. Kamara recently talked about his plans for the upcoming 2020 campaign and how he’s determined to return to form as an elite back in the NFL, via NFL.com.

“Honestly, I just want to go out and be the best version of me. Obviously, last year with injuries I was kinda held back, didn’t get to really do what I wanted to do. I was on pace the first couple of games and was feeling great. I just want to show what everybody’s used to and that’s a powerful, explosive, highlight-making running back. So that’s what I’m focused on.” Reaffirming his focus, when he was asked about the prospects of securing a new contract — he’s entering the final season of his rookie deal — Kamara said that’s not weighing on his mind. “I don’t know where we at. I’m here working, I’m here practicing,” Kamara said. “Whenever that gets handled, it gets handled. I’m just doing what I gotta do for now.”

New Orleans boasts one of the best offenses in the NFL. As a result, the Saints are expected to be a force to be reckoned with once again. Drew Brees may be another year older and coming off some controversy which has impacted his legacy. However, he is still thought of as one of the better quarterbacks in the league and more than capable of winning another Super Bowl title in New Orleans.
As for Kamara, it could be a make or break year. Not only is aiming to get back to being a dominant force on the gridiron, but he’s also looking for a new contract, which means this could be his most important season to date.
