Falcons owner admits Matt Ryan and Julio Jones may not be back
The Atlanta Falcons are coming off yet another disappointing season. Matt Ryan and company were unable to get the job done during the 2020 campaign. As a result they head into an offseason where drastic change may transpire.
The Falcons finished dead last in the NFC South division with a forgettable record of 4-12. Now it appears owner Arthur Blank and the team’s brass could be ready to move on from the team’s two biggest stars in Julio Jones and Matt Ryan, via AtlantaFalcons.com.

“What I think is important, most important, is that we hire people who are, number one, the very best at their jobs,” Blank said. “That goes without saying. Who will come forward with a plan for us to have a championship team, a competitive team, et cetera. And that may include Matt and Julio for now, for the next two years, three years, or may not. I have no idea.”
Nothing is set in stone and both players could be on the roster come Week 1 of the 2021 campaign. Although, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the team decides to clean house and start from scratch.

With only four wins on the season, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if the team decided to wipe the slate clean by parting ways with Jones and Ryan.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Falcons do during the offseason as they could be one of many teams that have a new quarterback under center to start next season.
