Washington’s Antonio Gibson doesn’t want to become a ‘robotic’ RB
The Washington Football Team is moving forward with a primarily a young group of talent. Second-year running back Antonio Gibson is hoping to build off a solid rookie campaign. As he moves into the 2021 season, he voiced that he believes he does more than a typical running back.

“Robotic,” Gibson said via Pro Football Talk. “I feel that’s what a lot of running backs do. When they grow up, all they do is running back. They’re stuck in that world of downhill running or make-a-cut-and-go. I feel that’s what makes me different going from receiver to running back. I make the extra cut. I’m not scared to make the extra cut. I’m not scared to make somebody miss in the backfield, and then try to get north. Or get shifty. Try to make a play. That’s what puts me over the edge of a lot of folks.”
Antonio Gibson has quickly proven to be a dual-threat asset as he rushed for 795 yards with 11 touchdowns and recorded 36 receptions for 247 receiving yards. The 23-year-old is hoping to be a more significant factor in the passing game as he’s working to become a more elusive runner and receiver.

He will have ample opportunity to rack up big numbers behind his massive workload next season. Gibson is primed to become the team’s three-down back and will play a significant role in the offensive game plan.
In other words, it’s on him to make the most of the opportunity that lies ahead.
