NFL Power Rankings, Week 5: Cardinals rule NFC early
The Arizona Cardinals took down the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, and are the NFL’s lone undefeated team going into Week 5. Below we look at this week’s NFL power rankings.
16. Detroit Lions
The Lions are the only winless NFC team, so we must start here. Can they get it done in Minnesota this week?
15. Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta just invents ways to lose. It’s actually impressive. Sad, but impressive.
14. New York Giants
New York has been in each of its last three games to the end, and it finally pulled one out against the Saints on Sunday at the Superdome.
13. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles scored 30 points on the Chiefs. The problem? They gave up 42 points on only seven Kansas City possessions.
12. Chicago Bears
The Bears looked much better last weekend with rookie quarterback Justin Fields running an offense tailored to him. Will they stick with it against the Raiders?

11. Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota is maddening. The talent is there, but the execution and finish is not.
10. Washington Football Team
Will the defense ever show up? If it does, Washington would have a shot at being a wild card team.
9. New Orleans Saints
The Saints had a chance to get to 3-1 and lost to the previously-winless Giants. Horrible job.
8. Carolina Panthers
After losing their first game all year, the Panthers head home and take on the Eagles. Have to take care of business here.
7. San Francisco 49ers
The Niners are suddenly reeling a bit. Losers of two straight, it’s unclear who the quarterback will be on Sunday and the Cardinals are ready and waiting.

6. Seattle Seahawks
Seattle got a huge road win over San Francisco. Now the Seahawks can climb another spot in the NFC West on Thursday night against the Rams.
5. Dallas Cowboys
The offense is legit. If the defense can do anything, the Cowboys are a contender in the NFC.
4. Green Bay Packers
It looks like the Packers have found themselves after being beaten 38-3 by the Saints in Week 1. Since then, three wins and now the Bengals.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Things aren’t coming easily for the defending champs, but the Bucs are 3-1 and now enter an easy stretch, starting with the Dolphins on Sunday.
2. Los Angeles Rams
Yes, the Rams were beaten badly at home by Arizona. However, a win on Thursday and Seattle and everybody feels good again about the team ranked No. 1 in everybody’s power rankings 72 hours ago.
1. Arizona Cardinals
The only unbeaten remaining in the NFL. The Cardinals are top dogs.
