NFL Week 12 lines: Making the case for each favorite
With Thanksgiving closing in, we glance at the NFL Week 12 lines and make a case for betting the favorites to cover their spreads.
Chicago Bears (-3) at Detroit Lions
If there’s one team the Bears should be able to beat by a field goal, it’s the 0-9-1 Lions who likely are starting Tim Boyle at quarterback.
Las Vegas Raiders at Dallas Cowboys (-7.5)
Dallas is going to be furious after scoring only nine points against the Chiefs, and Las Vegas has lost three straight looking ready for golf.
Buffalo Bills (-6) at New Orleans Saints
Buffalo needs to win, and is drawing a beat-up Saints team with Trevor Siemian under center.
Atlanta Falcons (-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars
Urban Meyer is on the other sideline.
Carolina Panthers (-2) at Miami Dolphins
The Panthers are the more talented team which should be able to hit Tua Tagovailoa early and often while he stands behind a horrific offensive line.
New York Jets at Houston Texans (-2.5)
The Jets are starting Zach Wilson, and the kid has absolutely nobody to throw at. Also, the Jets can’t play any defense, so even Houston should crack 20 points.

Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5) at New York Giants
Philadelphia is playing well offensively behind a great rushing attack, and the Giants are on a short week after firing their offensive coordinator.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5)
The Bengals are the more talented offensive team and already pounded the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Look for Ja’Marr Chase to have a big day.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3) at Indianapolis Colts
This is the stretch drive, and Tom Brady heats up every year at this point. Also, the Colts must run to win, and they won’t be able to against this front.
Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots (-6.5)
Bill Belichick is great at making limited teams completely rudderless. Look for A.J. Brown to be doubled and the pressure to impact Ryan Tannehill.
Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5) at Denver Broncos
The Chargers are the better team as they try to pull even (and technically ahead) of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.

Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay Packers (-1)
Green Bay is at home and hasn’t lost consecutive games in the Matt LaFleur era. Expect a top-notch defensive performance.
Minnesota Vikings at San Francisco 49ers (-3)
The teams are really evenly-matched, but the Niners are at home and better coached.
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-3.5)
If Lamar Jackson is ready to play, the Ravens have enough firepower to outlast the Browns, who have an injured quarterback and a crumbling confidence about them.
Seattle Seahawks at Washington Football Team (-1)
The Seahawks are a broken team right now. Meanwhile, Washington can slip back into the playoff race at 5-6 with a home win.
