Antonio Brown Suing Raiders, Patriots for up to $40m

Just because his NFL career is in the toilet, it doesn’t mean that we’ve heard the last of Antonio Brown.

In fact, the latest chapter in the Antonio Brown saga has only just begun. Grievances against the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots have been filed on his behalf by the NFLPA, according to reports.

Antonio Brown is currently under investigation by the NFL for alleged sexual assault. While he awaits a verdict, his legal team seek to recoup up to $40 million in unpaid salary and voided guarantees from the Raiders and the Patriots.

After being released by the Raiders before the season started, Brown looked to have landed on his feet. However, the sexual assault accusation broke after his move to the Patriots. He was released by New England after he reportedly sent intimidating messages to one of his accusers.

Brown’s case won’t be heard before the Spring, according to league sources. As well as that, it’s unlikely that he will recoup all the cash he is looking for.

Brown is looking to get back $215,00 in fines from the Oakland Raiders. He is also seeking a week of unpaid salary, to the tune of $860,000, from the time he requested to be traded.

Despite only being on the Patriots payroll for a couple of weeks, he is seeking compensation from them as well. His guaranteed base salary amounts to $1.025 million, as well as a $9 million signing bonus. He wants his unpaid week 1 salary of $64,062. As well as that, he has filed for breach of contract.
