Despite offensive struggles, Bama beats LSU 24-10

For the first time this season, Alabama played without being ranked as the nation’s top team.

The No. 2 ranked Tide (9-0) never trailed against No. 19 LSU at Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday night, but they didn’t put on the offensive showcase we’ve seen from them so many times this year.

Bama finished 5-14 on third down and was out-rushed 151-116, and out-gained in overall yards 306-299. They lost the time of possession battle 34:07-25:53

Quarterback Jalen Hurts scored twice. He ran across the goal line from three yards out and connected with Irv Smith, Jr. on a gain of four.

Hurts led Bama in rushing with 44 yards on 14 carries. He also earned 183 yards on 11-of-24 passing.

Bo Scarbrough scored Bama’s other touchdown with a nine-yard run in the second quarter.

Even so, the Tide’s stellar defense didn’t disappoint and found ways to keep the Tigers out of the end zone.

The win gives Alabama its seventh straight over LSU and moves the lopsided all-time series even further in the Tide’s favor at 52-25-5.

Bama will play No. 16 Mississippi State in Starkville on Nov. 11.
