Celtics’ Kristaps Porzingis seems determined to play Game 3
As the Celtics took a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Mavericks, the injury bug has struck big man Kristaps Porzingis again.
The 28-year-old suffered a lower leg injury in Game 2, which put his status in question moving forward. However, he voiced that he expects to remain on the court.

“Not difficult at all,” Porzingis said, when asked if it was tough for him to continue playing via ESPN. “I’ll die out there if we need, so I just kept going.
“But obviously I was a little bit limited, so the smart thing was to get Al [Horford] back in there and close out the game.”
It’s been a tough season for Porzingis. He missed the bulk of the playoffs after suffering a calf strain that forced him to sit out five weeks.
Despite his limited action, he has been a strong factor in the first games of the NBA Finals against the Mavericks,. He most notably dropped 20 points off the bench in Game 1.
The Celtics will continue to monitor the situation closely. He’s struggled with nagging injuries throughout much of his career and is currently listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game.

His absence would leave the team without a proven scorer and rim protector. Although, the Celtics possess plenty of roster depth to overcome that.
Boston has dominated the series defensively through the first two games, and they hope to keep that trend on the road in Game 3 in Dallas.
