Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki has continued to add to his illustrious career this season.
The latest feat that he has achieved saw Nowitzki surpass Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain for sixth all-time on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. It’s a major milestone that the 40-year-old is highly appreciative of being able to accomplish, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

“The ‘Big Dipper,’ huh? It’s amazing,” said Nowitzki, who finished with eight points in 12 minutes in the Mavs’ 129-125 loss, pushing his career total to 31,424 points. “It’s been a long time coming this season, knowing before the year it was only 200-something points [away]. Then there were times when I thought I’m not going to make it, the way the season went with the injury. Coming off the injury was just super, super slow. But the last few weeks felt better, and I’ve been playing better, and the team was obviously looking for me and telling me to shoot.
This has only added to Nowitzki’s illustrious career. His possible final season has seen him continue to add more historic feats to his name. The only players that are above him at this point in time Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan.

Nowitzki has continued to add feats this season, but there is still uncertainty if he will play another campaign. He has left that door open on that possibility.
Regardless if he plays for another year, Dirk Nowitzki has added another impressive accolade to what has been a sure-fire Hall of Fame career.
