Texas vs Michigan and Oregon vs Wisconsin in Tonight’s NCAA
Saturday’s Round of 32 features some games that would be good football match-ups. In early action, the #1 ranked Florida Gators beat the Pittsburgh Panthers in a game between fan bases who are no strangers to football titles. Tonight we have two more games that would sell some tickets on the gridiron, the Texas Longhorns meet the Michigan Wolverines and in a good sounding Rose Bowl match, the Oregon Ducks take on the Wisconsin Badgers.
Despite being known mostly for football, these fan bases have had a lot of hoops success to cheer about. Florida has two NCAA Tournament titles and is one win away from their fourth Elite Eight in a row. Pitt has long been a power in the Big East and fared well in their first season in the ACC, even taking down the North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC Tournament. The Longhorns have had some great hoops teams and can boast of such NBA starts as Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge. The Wolverines made it all the way to the NCAA Tournament Finals a season ago. The Ducks played in the Elite Eight in 2007 and the Badgers made the Final Four in 2000 and are annually a contender in the brutal Big Ten.
Texas comes into this round following a heart-stopper against another football school, the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Round of 64. Cameron Ridley grabbed an errant shot and put it back just before the horn sounded in the Horns 87-85 win in what might have been the best game in a tournament filled with nail-biters. Michigan had their way with the Wofford Terriers in a 57-40 rout. Glenn Robinson III led them with 14 points.
Oregon got a nice draw in the second round with an injury depleted BYU Cougars (another football school) as their opponent. The Ducks were led by Elgin Cook with 23 points and Joseph Young added 19 in the win. The Badgers got off to a shaky start going down 17-10 to American but from then on their defense put a clamp on them and the Badgers won 75-35.
Bookmaker has the odds on tonight’s games:
Oregon vs Wisconsin– The Ducks are +5.5 -110 and the Badgers are -5.5 -110 ATS. Moneyline is Oregon +220 and Wisconsin -265. We think the Ducks might give the Badgers a bit of trouble tonight. Wisconsin had an easy first game so look for them to struggle a bit tonight. Take the Ducks +5.5 -110.
Texas vs Michigan– Texas is +5 -110 and Michigan is -5 -110 ATS. Moneyline is Texas +192 and Michigan is -230. We like the Wolverines to beat the spread behind Nik Stauskas and Glenn Robinson III.
