These 4 teams are legit sleepers for Super Bowl 55

4. Tennessee Titans

Yes, a team one step away from the Super Bowl in January is on the list. Why? Because how many people have you heard talk about the Titans as a real threat to reach said stage again, or go even further this year? Almost nobody.

While Tennessee did suffer some losses in cornerback Logan Ryan, right tackle Jack Conklin and defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, they also added tackle Isaiah Wilson and corner Kristian Fulton in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft. If Ryan Tannehill has truly found himself and Derrick Henry stays upright, Tennessee will be a problem in the AFC.

3. Chicago Bears

Two years ago, the Bears went 12-4 and were mere inches away from going to the NFC Divisional as a serious threat with the league’s best defense. Then Mitch Trubisky happened in 2019, the defense took a small step back, and the Bears went 8-8. Chicago still has the makings of an awesome defense, which is now in its second season under coordinator Chuck Pagano.

More importantly, the Bears added Nick Foles to compete with — and likely replace — Trubisky. Foles isn’t great, but he’s an upgrade, and he’s won the Super Bowl before. If not else, it’s a boost in talent and confidence at the league’s most important position.

2. Green Bay Packers

It’s weird to have both o the conference championship game losers on the list, but it’s fair. Green Bay went 13-3 last season but nobody seems to remember after watching what was, by all accounts, a brutal offseason. Additionally, many felt the Packers grossly overachieved in 2019 and are due for regression. Maybe that’s the case, but with Aaron Rodgers at the helm, it’s foolish to think Green Bay couldn’t make a run this season.

The Packers’ biggest concern is the lack of weapons around Rodgers, something they curiously didn’t address this offseason outside of Devin Funchess on a one-year deal in free agency.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are easily the top choice here. Nobody is taking about them because they share a division with the Baltimore Ravens, and they have a 38-year-old quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger coming off Tommy John Surgery. Without question, both those situations should give pause.

However, Pittsburgh has an elite defense. It has a future Hall of Fame combination at coach and quarterback. It has a great offensive line and plenty of weapons. The Steelers are going to be a problem if they’re healthy, perhaps the only AFC team truly capable of pushing Baltimore and the Kansas City Chiefs.
