Cowboys reportedly having ‘positive’ contract talks with Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys have found themselves in a continually tough situation with Dak Prescott as it pertains to his contract.

That has led to the Pro Bowler make decisions that have pushed his way harder toward working out a new long-term extension with Dallas. However, it appears that things are starting to trend in the right direction. (H/T Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk)

However, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys and Prescott’s camp have spoken in the last two weeks with what was described as a “very positive” session.

That is certainly an encouraging sign for the franchise after having dealt with some developments with the matter. Prescott has yet to sign his franchise tag for the 2020 season. Meanwhile, he has decided not to participate in the tam’s virtual workouts so far this offseason.

All of that has been done due to his desire to work out a long-term deal with the Cowboys. Things haven’t progressed in the manner that was hoped over the last several months. The two still have plenty of ground to cover between them, with much of that centered on Prescott wanting to be paid like one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

There hasn’t been any movement toward any middle ground between both sides over the last several weeks. Instead, things have sat in a tough spot as the July 15 deadline for an extension continues to near closer. There is still plenty of time to get a new deal worked out, but it’s a situation that the Cowboys are hoping to clear up this offseason.
