Darren Waller claims Raiders’ team captions feeling a sense of urgency after poor start
The Las Vegas Raiders are off to a disappointing start out of the gate to the 2022 season.
Las Vegas remains the only team in the league without a win, sitting in last place in the AFC West. Despite the team’s discouraging struggles, star tight end Darren Waller voiced that there is a strong sense of urgency from the team.
“I definitely feel the urgency from the captains on the team,†tight end Darren Waller said, via Vinny Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “They just really care. And they’re challenging people to up their preparation, to do a little more recovery. Like, whatever it is, when you sit down to reflect, ask yourself what you can do better. That’s what the leaders are doing.â€
The Raiders have struggled to find any footing, losing each of their first three games by six points or less. Las Vegas held an opportunity to secure a win in every contest, but their constant mistakes and shortcomings have put them in a tough spot heading into Week 4 action.
Derek Carr hasn’t performed up to the level that was hoped, as he’s had difficulty finding a consistent connection with star wide receiver Davante Adams. Meanwhile, the defense has experienced struggles in the secondary that have contributed to their rough start.

Despite that, the Raiders will have the chance to turn things around starting in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos, who are coming off back-to-back wins. The challenge will be stiff, as the Broncos possess one of the league’s top defenses.
