“I think there’s been really no secret that it’s going to be close,” he said as the team wrapped up training camp Tuesday. “Seeing where I’m at in camp and finally, hopefully next week, doing 11-on-11, I think naturally it’s going to be close. Ultimately, it won’t be just my call or the coaches’ call. It will come down to what the doctors say, really.”

It has become quite evident that is aiming to be ready to go by Week 1. That would mark just less than nine months removed from tearing his ACL and LCL last December. He sustained the injury against the Los Angeles Rams. There isn’t any pressure for him to be out at that date. However. it’s something that he has targeted in the last few months.
The Eagles do have the luxury of possessing a more than capable backup in Nick Foles. Foles has shown he can step in for any length of time to be an effective option under center. If either the team or doctors feel that he isn’t exactly ready by the season opener, there won’t be any disappointed expressed by either party involved.
It is something that won’t be truly known until a decision has to be made by the Eagles in coming weeks.
