NFL Week 6 odds: 5 best bets

The NFL Week 6 slate throws up some enticing options for bettors. We take a look at 5 of the best bets for NFL Week 6.

5. New England Patriots (-17) vs. New York Giants

Why wouldn’t you believe the Pats cover 17 points here? New England is at home on a short week against a rookie quarterback making his third start, and he’s without his top three weapons. The Patriots also have the benefit of playing a team without much of a defense and s suspect secondary to say the least. If New England scores 24 points it likely covers here.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2.5) vs. Carolina Panthers

The Buccaneers were able to win the first matchup between these two teams, taking a 20-14 decision in Week 2 on Thursday Night Football. While the Panthers are playing well as winners of three straight, the Bucs have also shown something by hammering the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4 before hanging tough in a loss against the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome. Tampa Bay is the most talented team, and on a neutral field in London, Bruce Arians’ club should be ready and waiting.

3. Miami Dolphins (+3.5) at Washington Redskins

This is not a game anybody should watch. Especially the kids. Seriously. Think of the kids. However, this might be a game where you can make some money. The Dolphins re truly awful, but they are coming off a bye week, and they’ve finally installed Josh Rosen as their quarterback moving forward for the rest of the season. Meanwhile the Redskins fired their head coach on Monday, and new head coach Bill Callahan has spent much of the ensuing practices making his team run sprints. Not a way to win adults over. Miami might be able to cover and even outright win.

2. Dallas Cowboys (-8) at New York Jets

The Cowboys are a much better team, and they desperately need to win after losing their last two games. While Dallas has struggled against the better competition, it has cleaned up against subpar teams. The Jets are the definition of a subpar team. Sam Darnold coming back is certainly a major step toward being respectable, but it’s tough to expect Darnold coming in and playing great after missing a month with mono.

1. Seattle Seahawks (-1.5) at Cleveland Browns

Bet of the years this point. The Seahawks are the much better team, coming off 10 days rest. The Browns have been a clown car since Week 1, and just got pummeled in San Francisco on Monday night. In essence, they didn’t get back into Cleveland until Tuesday morning and now have to play a superior team in front of furious fans. Good luck with that. This screams Seattle winning big.
