NFL Week 8 schedule: 5 teams that need to win the most
This weekend, these five teams need to win most after looking at what should be an entertaining NFL Week 8 schedule.
5. Minnesota Vikings
If the Vikings are going to make a run towards an NFC playoff spot — or have any chance in the NFC North race — it’s time to make a move. At 3-3 coming out of their bye week, the Vikings welcome in the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott, who is dealing with a calf injury. Minnesota is one of the rare teams who has the firepower to keep up with the Cowboys, and so winning at home on Sunday night is on the table.

4. Cleveland Browns
The Browns are 4-3 but it feels tenuous. Cleveland needs to keep winning with the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals both sitting at 5-2. Now, the Pittsburgh Steelers come off to town after a bye week, with their record at 3-3. Pittsburgh will present a challenge with its defense, especially as Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield continues to work his way back from a shoulder injury. A win here, and there’s some distance from Pittsburgh while the gap closes on idle Baltimore.
3. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts started the season 1-4 with an injury-marred roster and a brutal slate against a litany of contenders. Now, Indianapolis has won two straight after handling both the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49er. This week, the red-hot Tennessee Titans come to town, and with a win, the Colts would split the season series while closing the AFC South gap to one game. Huge opportunity for Indy to make up ground.

2. Seattle Seahawks
At 2-5, perhaps it’s too late already for the Seahawks. However, they have to continue fighting with the hope of quarterback Russell Wilson returning sooner rather than later from finger surgery. In the meantime, the Seahawks are playing host to the 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars, who haven’t won a game in the United States since Week 1 of last year. With a victory, the Seahawks keep themselves afloat for a wild card spot in the NFC.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
It’s almost impossible to believe, but the Chiefs are 3-4 after being blown out 27-3 by the Titans in Nashville last week. Kansas City now staggers back to Arrowhead Stadium for a Monday night contest with the New York Giants, who are. coming off a 22-point win over the Carolina Panthers. A loss here — especially with the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas coming up — the Chiefs might be finished.
