NFL power rankings, Week 18: Packers keep it up

In the NFC version of our NFL power rankings, the Dallas Cowboys fall, while the Green Bay Packers stay strong on top.

16. Detroit Lions

The Lions avoided going winless with a few victories, but that’s about the extend of their highlights this year.

15. New York Giants

No team has laid down more than the Giants, despite what Joe Judge says in an inane 11-minute rambling presser.

14. Carolina Panthers

Remember when the Panthers were 3-0 and good? That seems like 1971.

13. Seattle Seahawks

Are we about to see the last game with Pete Carroll on the sideline and Russell Wilson in the shotgun for the Seahawks?

12. Chicago Bears

If the Bears played all year like they did the last two weeks, they’d be a playoff team. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

11. Atlanta Falcons

And with that loss, the Falcons are now eliminated from playoff contention, which somehow didn’t happen sooner.

10. Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota fans would fire Mike Zimmer yesterday if they could, and yet somehow the Vikings are still waiting.

9. Washington Football Team

Washington made a run after being 2-6, actually holding a playoff spot at one point. Then everything went to complete crap.

8. New Orleans Saints

If the Saints win and the 49ers lose to the Rams this weekend, they’re in the playoffs as either the No. 6 or 7 seed.

7. Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia beat Washington on Sunday and with the Packers beating the Vikings, the Eagles are in the playoffs.

6. San Francisco 49ers

The Niners simply need to win on Sunday at Los Angeles and they’re in the playoffs. However, a loss and they could be on the outside looking in.

5. Dallas Cowboys

Dallas had an opportunity to get a nice win at home against the Cardinals but ultimately fell short with the help of some brutal officiating.

4. Arizona Cardinals

After losing three straight games, many wrote off the Cardinals. However, they rebounded to get the job done against Dallas, with Kyler Murray going for more than 300 total yards.

3. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams can win the NFC West with a victory over the 49ers in Week 18, or with a loss by the Cardinals against the Seahawks.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have clinched the NFC South and will likely rest their starters against the Panthers with no chance of getting home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

1. Green Bay Packers

With the top seed wrapped up, the Packers can now relax for a few weeks and wait to see who they will host in the NFC playoffs.
