NFL power rankings, Week 8: Packers keep sinking

The NFL power rankings for the NFC entering Week 8 are here, and the Green Bay Packers are still struggling badly.

16. Detroit Lions (LW: 16)

This was supposed to be a really fun season in Detroit, and it just hasn’t materialized in any way.

15. Carolina Panthers (LW: 15)

The Panthers were able to beat the Bucs in a stunner. Now, can they go on the road and handle the Falcons?

14. New Orleans Saints (LW: 12)

New Orleans is 2-5, has no quarterback, and is more than $50 million over the projected cap in 2023. Good times.

13. Chicago Bears (LW: 15)

Chicago doesn’t have much offensive weaponry, but the Bears are really well-coached and earned their biggest win in a long time on Monday night over the New England Patriots.

12. Washington Commanders (LW: 14)

The Commanders aren’t good, but Taylor Heinicke somehow keeps the offense alive enough to make games interesting.

11. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 11)

Are we supposed to be excited after the Cardinals beat the Saints with the help of multiple pick-sixes? They still have plenty to prove.

10. Green Bay Packers (LW: 7)

This offense is a total disaster, and Aaron Rodgers publicly complaining about everything isn’t going to help.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 5)

Tampa Bay is a tire fire on the offensive side. The Bucs also may have lost edge rusher Shaq Barrett for the season, making Thursday’s night even worse.

8. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 9)

Atlanta might win the NFC South. We’re really getting to that point.

7. Los Angeles Rams (LW: 8)

The Rams are coming out of the bye with the 49ers and Buccaneers. What happens in those games should speak volumes about where they can go this year.

6. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 10)

Seattle has to be taken as a serious playoff contender. The Seahawks went on the road and blasted the Chargers.

5. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 6)

The 49ers are 3-4 but they’re loaded on both sides of the ball. Once they get healthy, they’re Super Bowl contenders.

4. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 2)

At 5-1, the Vikings have to feel great about their chances to host a playoff game and perhaps a couple of them. However, some of those wins have red flags galore.

3. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 4)

Dallas has one of the league’s best defenses, and quarterback Dak Prescott is now healthy. Can the offense get rolling?

2. New York Giants (LW: 3)

The Giants are 6-1 and winning one-possession games at a stunning rate. Can they keep doing it? The coaching has been phenomenal.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 1)

Only undefeated team in the league, and with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans on deck.
