5 biggest losers from NFL Week 3 action
NFL Week 3 was the story of winners and losers. We take a look at 5 teams who must go back to the drawing board after NFL Week 3.
5. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have to be on the list. Look, Los Angeles has been favored in each of its three games and somehow find itself 1-2. If this was the AFC South or the NFC South, not the end of the world. Unfortuately for the Chargers, they are in a division with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are already 3-0 and now visiting the Detroit Lions. This is a rough start, and it’s made all the more painful when you consider turnovers and penalties are the main culprits.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers had themes painful loss of the week, falling 32-31 at home to the previously winless New York Giants. Matt Gay had missed a pair of extra points but knocked in all four field goal attempts before lining up for the game-winning 36-yard try. Incredibly, Gay shanked it off to the right, giving Daniel Jones and Co. a great plane trip up the East Coast. If the Buccaneers are ever going to threaten for a playoff spot again in our lifetimes, games like these need to be in the win column.

3. Cleveland Browns
The Browns were the media darling of the offseason. As typically happens with the offseason champion, it flounders in the actual season. Cleveland is 1-2 with its only win coming over the lowly and injured New York Jets. On Sunday night, the Browns got a chance to showcase their new-fangled roster to the world, only to score a measly 13 points in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Up next, a showdown in Charm City with the Baltimore Ravens.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Yes, the Eagles have injuries. No, it’s not an excuse to lose at home to the Detroit Lions. While Detroit registered 27 points, the defense only allowed one touchdown drive and a pair of field goals. Otherwise, it was a kickoff return for a touchdown, and two field goals after the Eagles’ offense turned the ball over in its own territory. If Philadelphia is going to keep pace with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East, it now must beat the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

1. Seattle Seahawks
Can’t lose to Teddy Bridgewater at home. Much like the Eagles, the Seahawks were undone by two non-offensive touchdowns being allowed. If the defense and specials on the other side each score, it’s borderline impossible o win. The Seahawks are in a division with two undefeated teams, and giving away a game to the New Orleans Saints is a major issue.
