Seahawks give an update on QB Geno Smith’s status

He is expected to be the starter for the 2024 season after another productive campaign. In 2024n he posted 3,624 passing yards with 20 touchdown passes to nine interceptions and held a 92.1 passer rating.
Although Seattle is fully prepared to move forward with Smith, the team has stabilized the position behind him by acquiring Sam Howell in a trade back in March and signing PJ Walker back in June. If Smith were to miss any time, Howell would likely get the first crack as the starter.
The Seahawks are entering a new era after parting ways with longtime head coach Pete Carroll. First-year head coach Mike MacDonald is at the helm. Much of the focus will be on Smith’s performance in a new offensive scheme.
